Cookie Diet – Review

In the world of fad diets almost nothing can be more absurd than the cookie diet. In essence this diet claims that amino acids baked into cookies can control hunger.

Fad diets are short term diets in which people are to lose a lot of weight, and are popular because of their claims of great weight loss. Fad diets generally include some super food, like the cookie in the cookie diet, with miraculous weight loss properties. These diets rely on slick pitches that make it seem silly not to buy and try the diet. Crack the Fat Loss Code on the other hand stands out by promising what it claims, doing so with the use of healthy, nutrition food that actually makes sense!

The cookie diet was created by a physician named Sanford Siegel in 1975 while he was researching a book on the effect of natural foods on hunger. To maintain the cookie diet people would eat six cookies a day, plus a regular dinner. All told the daily caloric intake was about 800 calories. The cookie diet exploded to 24 clinics around the world. It wasn’t long before over 200 doctors were regularly recommending the cookie diet. The clever doctor came out with soups and shakes that also contained the amino acids needed to control hunger. If you are willing to lower your calorie intake to such an extreme, why not just go on an intermittent fast for 24 hours? Read this Eat Stop Eat review for more details.

A new version of the cookie diet became popular with Hollywood stars as the Hollywood cookie diet. Stars and starlets made their use of the diet well known, which helped vault it to public attention. This newer version of the diet included four cookies and a dinner. Each cookie contains approximately 150 calories, loaded with fiber, protein and 13 vitamins and minerals.

Don’t waste time with the cookie diet. Remember that good health comes from a balanced diet and an exercise program. In general this is a much healthier way to lose or maintain weight than relying on some fly by night miracle food, even if it is endorsed by someone you recognize from a movie.
