Aluminum Laptop Briefcases for the Internet Age
Why would anyone choose an aluminum laptop briefcase instead of a traditional leather briefcase or a soft laptop carrying case? Aside from the fact that they are great looking, aluminum laptop carrying cases are designed specifically for laptop computers. Other briefcases and carrying cases are holdovers from an earlier era and aren’t really appropriate for computers.
Take a look inside the typical old-fashioned briefcase and you see a neatly compartmentalized interior that looks like a mini filing cabinet. It will also have areas for holding pens, business cards and other odds and ends. Before the computer era, a good briefcase was an organizational marvel and a businessman’s status symbol.
That was before the computer age. Today, the laptop is the businessperson’s most indispensable tool. Those old briefcases weren’t designed for carrying laptops and laptop accessories. Though some makers have made alterations to their design, they are still not really purpose-built for laptops.
When the people who designed aluminum laptop briefcases sat down to design the ideal briefcase for the computer savvy businessman, they scrapped the old designs and started over from scratch. They chose aluminum because it is tough enough to withstand impact while still being extremely light in weight. They knew that unlike paper documents, laptops need to be protected from the abuse they can be subject to out in the streets.
Traditional briefcases are opened from the top while aluminum laptop briefcases open like suitcases, making it much easier to locate and remove your computer and its accessories. Larger models designed for travel or presentations have a place for the laptop and its accessories in the top half of the case, while the bottom half is reserved for documents, clothes and other necessities.
Moreover, briefcases and soft laptop carrying cases don’t hold your laptop accessories securely. By the time you get to work, things have shifted around inside. This isn’t the case with aluminum laptop briefcases. With these, everything stays where you want it to stay.
While it is true that you can buy a variety of styles of leather briefcases, they are not designed for specific sizes of laptops. Aluminum laptop briefcases, on the other hand, are designed with specific uses and laptops in mind. You can get anything from a super slim case for your notebook computer to a large rolling laptop carrying case for taking with you on overseas business trips.
For these reasons and more, it is smarter to buy an aluminum laptop briefcase than an ordinary briefcase. We’re in the digital age now, so you need a briefcase for the digital age, not the 1950s.
